Temu is a fast-growing direct to consumer e-commerce company based in China. Their claim to fame is having production and logistics technology to be able to go from a single "copy" of any fashion trend posted online to shipping a garment in your preferred size and color within 2 weeks. No designers, no inventory, no distributors or bricks and mortar retailers.
The quality isn't there, but the price is UNBEATABLE. The question is how does a fashion company catering to young women compete? It has to be on story. You have to produce clothes that communicate a story. Our racerbacks with mod pockets scream "signs of the sixties". Temu also has dresses with mod fabric. But, in our opinion a full dress with mod fabric just doesn't produce a strong sign, a strong story.
Here is a few pix of Temu dresses with mod fabric. Note Temu crops the head of the models in these picture by design. Why? Likely, in attempt to appeal to all ethnicities. But, the downside of this strategy is that they buyer is less likely to identify with the model, want to imaging a story with them wearing the dress.
Here are a few pictures of our Post-Mod ® racerbacks with mod pockets made with fabric of similar designs to the Temu dresses above
